The Third International Conference on Cofactors 03 (ICC-03)
The Third International Conference on Cofactors (ICC-03; formerly known as Interdisciplinary Conference on Vitamins, Coenzymes, and Biofactors) will take place at the Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel in Turku, Finland, July 10-15, 2011 and is formally organized by Joint Biotechnology Laboratory (JBL, Department of Chemistry, University of Turku). The meeting combines the past "Symposium on Vitamin B6, PQQ, Carbonyl Catalysis and Quinoproteins" and "The Congress on Vitamins and Related Biofactors".
The conference will include sessions on pyridoxal-5'-phosphate- and NAD-dependent enzymes, quinones and quinoproteins, biosynthesis of biofactors, flavins and pterins, biomedical aspects of vitamins and biofactors, as well as session on bioinformatics. Submitted papers will be accepted for either oral (standard talk) or poster presentation (short talk in poster format that is projected to the wall). Social program will include, among other things, tour to beer boats by the River Aura and a visit to sauna, a heated steam room Finnish style. Finnish summer has its distinctive charm and July is a prime time to enjoy the endless white nights.
The University of Turku is located in the South-Western part of Finland, approximately 150 kilometers/100 miles from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. It can be reached by train or bus from the Helsinki-Vantaa International airport or flying directly to the Turku airport. The local organizing committee and the Turku Convention Bureau are well aware of the geographic location of Finland at the outskirts of Europe and are committed to help fulfill the travelling or any other special requests of the participants, during or beyond the ICC-03.
